Port City Playwrights is excited to launch the Port City Storytelling Workshop, our newest initiative celebrating the diverse voices of the Cape Fear region. Supported by a generous grant from the New Hanover Community Endowment in conjunction with the Arts Council of Wilmington & NHC, this workshop is a unique opportunity for community members to share their personal stories.

Why Stories Matter
Stories are powerful connectors. They bring people together, foster understanding, and bridge divides between communities that might not often interact. By sharing our authentic, lived experiences, we can build deeper social connections and mutual respect.

Join Us!
We are looking for 8-10 enthusiastic participants for our 5-week workshop series. No public speaking experience is necessary—everyone has a story worth telling! Through the workshop, you’ll learn to develop and refine your narrative, culminating in a live Storytelling Celebration at the Cape Fear Museum. Share your journey with an audience of invited guests, family, and friends.

The workshop is entirely FREE, with all materials provided and parking fees covered. We welcome participants of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences.

Workshop Dates:
Weekly on Tuesdays, Feb. 18 & 25, March 4, 11, & 18, from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Hannah Block USO.

Storytelling Celebration:
Sunday, March 30, 3-5 pm, at the Cape Fear Museum.
